Dear Michelle Valentine,

‘Twas the best of times and the worst of times. I created an online dating profile approximately one year ago, and within a month, met my probable soulmate and love of my life.

So here’s the story of our first date:

I picked him up at his house wearing an expensive Donna Karan pantsuit, and his dog proceeds to attack me and bit a hole in my pantsuit!

We go to a romantic, elegant restaurant in Miami and then walk around town (until he develops serious gastrointestinal problems, necessitating trips to the men’s room every 5 minutes or so).

I take him home, drop him off, and laugh all the way home.

He calls and says I’ll probably never see him again after that – I laugh and say when.

We dated, fell in love, and then he fell out of love.

Unfortunately, I didn’t fall out of love!

I assume there’s more than one person in the world who I can love, and vice-versa. So, here’s to you – I hope I can make my life complete again.

I feel empty now; I love being in love!

I feel lonely without a significant other and know I will find him again soon.

Keep up your great column.

Sandy, Miami

Dear Sandy,

I’m happy to see that you realize it is better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all, and you are willing to give a second chance at finding love.

The right guy for you is out there somewhere, and I look forward to helping you find him!
