Residence Inn Amelia Island
When I’m traveling, location matters. I want to be close to the places I’m there to experience, but I also appreciate having a comfortable place to come back to after a long day. During our time filming Love Eat Travel with Michelle Valentine on Amelia Island, we stayed at Residence Inn Amelia Island, and this was one hotel our entire crew really enjoyed.
Just a few blocks from the beach, the hotel gave us easy access to Amelia Island while still feeling like a relaxing place to return to at the end of the day.
And I have to start with those white rocking chairs on the front porch. We all loved them!
A Comfortable Place to Come Back To
There’s something about a big front porch lined with white rocking chairs that immediately feels welcoming, especially in a beach destination. The hotel also has a large lobby area that we enjoyed, with plenty of space to sit, relax and gather.
That matters more than you might think when you’re traveling with other people. We weren’t confined to our rooms whenever we wanted to sit together or talk about our plans for the next day.
The staff was also wonderful throughout our stay. When you’re away from home for several days, friendly and helpful people can make a noticeable difference in the experience.
A Few Blocks From the Beach
One of the biggest advantages of staying here was the location. Residence Inn Amelia Island is only a few blocks from the beach, so you’re close to the ocean without necessarily needing to stay directly on the beachfront.
The hotel also had cute beach bikes available, which fit the laid-back feeling of Amelia Island perfectly.
We were traveling all over the island while filming, and it was nice having a hotel that put us within easy reach of the places we needed to go.
Rooms With Full Kitchenettes
Our rooms had full kitchenettes, something I always appreciate when I’m staying somewhere for several nights.
Even if you don’t plan on doing serious cooking during your vacation, having a refrigerator and kitchen space is incredibly convenient. You can keep drinks cold, bring back leftovers, have snacks on hand or prepare something simple without having to go out for every meal.
For a longer Amelia Island stay, that can make the room feel much more comfortable than a traditional hotel room.
The Breakfast Was Fantastic
The complimentary hot breakfast was one of the highlights for us. We thought the food was absolutely delicious, and with early mornings and busy days ahead of us, having a good breakfast right at the hotel was especially convenient.
This wasn’t one of those mornings when we grabbed a cup of coffee and ran out the door. We genuinely enjoyed the breakfast.
Pool, Jacuzzi and a Great Outdoor Area
The outdoor area was another part of the hotel we loved. There was a pool and jacuzzi, along with a large seating area and outdoor fireplace.
It gave the property another place to actually spend some time rather than simply using the hotel as somewhere to sleep.
After spending the day exploring Amelia Island, I can certainly understand wanting to come back, sit outside for a while or take a dip in the pool before heading out again.
Who Would I Recommend This Hotel For?
I think Residence Inn Amelia Island makes particular sense for travelers who want to be near the beach but also appreciate some of the comforts that make a multi-day trip easier.
The kitchenette is especially useful for longer stays, while the pool, outdoor spaces, hot breakfast and proximity to the beach give you some of those vacation extras. Families, couples and travelers planning to spend several days exploring Amelia Island could all find the setup convenient.

For us, Residence Inn Amelia Island was comfortable, convenient and welcoming. And yes, I would happily sit in one of those white rocking chairs again!
