If you love blueberries (and I sure do!), you’re going to fall hard for these Blueberry Basil Ice Pops. Blueberries have long been celebrated not only for their sweet-tart flavor but also for their health benefits. Native to North America, blueberries were a staple for Indigenous peoples, who used them fresh, dried, and even medicinally long before they became a modern “superfood.” Today, they’re beloved for being naturally low in calories and packed with antioxidants, making them perfect for lighter desserts.
Basil may seem like an unexpected pairing, but it has a long culinary history of being used in both sweet and savory dishes, especially in Mediterranean cooking. Its fresh, slightly peppery flavor enhances fruit beautifully, adding a subtle herbal note that makes these ice pops taste elevated and refreshing rather than overly sweet.
These ice pops are creamy, fruity, and incredibly easy to make. Using blueberry jam adds concentrated flavor without extra prep, while Greek yogurt brings protein and creaminess to the mix. Best of all, each pop clocks in at just 80 calories, making them a guilt-free treat you can enjoy all summer long.
