There are those rare, magical moments in life that feel almost too perfect to be real—like something out of a romantic movie. And for Lawrence and me, one of those moments is happening right now.

This summer, our travel and food television series, Love Eat Travel with Michelle Valentine, begins its national rollout on PBS member stations across the country. And as fate (or a wonderfully serendipitous universe) would have it, that premiere is happening on the very same day as our 8-year wedding anniversary.

Yes, you read that right. Out of 365 days in the year, our show’s PBS debut aligns perfectly with the anniversary of the day Lawrence and I said “I do.” If that’s not a reason to pop a bottle of champagne, I don’t know what is.

A Celebration of Love and Creative Partnership

This moment feels incredibly special—not just because of what’s happening on screen, but because of what’s happening off screen, too.

Lawrence isn’t just my husband—he’s also the Director of our TV series. From scouting gorgeous U.S. destinations to filming sunrise scenes, wrangling crew logistics, and creatively shaping each episode’s storyline, he’s been my partner in production every step of the way.

We’ve spent the past few years building Love Eat Travel together. And now, to see it finally airing on PBS—while celebrating eight years of marriage? It feels like a culmination of both our romantic journey and our professional one.

We’ll be celebrating at home in Florida with a fancy dinner, a glass (or two!) of bubbly, and a cozy screening of our own show. It’s simple, it’s sentimental, and it’s exactly what we both want—a quiet toast to a big moment.

How It All Began: A Long-Distance Love Story

Before the lights, camera, and travel came into play, there was just us—two people figuring out how to make love work across the miles.

We dated long-distance for two years, and it wasn’t always easy. But that distance taught us patience, creativity, and communication—all the building blocks that would eventually become the foundation for our marriage and work life together.

And when the time came to take the next step? Lawrence made it magical.

He proposed to me on Valentine’s Day during a romantic getaway at Disney World in Orlando. It was a dreamy, sparkling evening that I’ll never forget. ✨

A Wedding at Sea

Naturally, when it came time to plan our wedding, we wanted something just as adventurous and unforgettable as our engagement. So, we said our vows aboard a cruise ship—surrounded by ocean breezes, endless blue skies, and the people we love most.

It was the perfect setting for two people who live and breathe travel. It also set the tone for the kind of life we wanted together: full of new places, new experiences, and a deep love rooted in shared discovery.

The Show That Brought It All Full Circle

Love Eat Travel with Michelle Valentine is the creative expression of everything we love—storytelling, food, culture, connection, and of course… travel!

Each episode is filmed in a unique U.S. destination, from Cajun country in Louisiana to charming corners of Pennsylvania to the sun-soaked shores of Florida. You’ll find me interviewing local chefs, trying unique dishes, exploring historic landmarks, and discovering what makes each place so special.

Behind the scenes? Lawrence is there—directing, shaping the story, capturing every little detail that makes the show come alive. It’s truly a labor of love, and we’re so proud to finally share it with the world.

The series is now airing on PBS member stations nationwide, and will continue to air for the next three years with multiple repeats—so check your local listings and tune in!

A Toast to What’s Next

As I sit here reflecting on all of this—the show, our marriage, our shared creative journey—I feel nothing but gratitude.

Gratitude for a husband who’s also my biggest collaborator.
Gratitude for a team who helped us bring this show to life.
Gratitude for all the viewers and supporters who are watching from home.
And above all, gratitude for the beautiful coincidence that has turned our 8th wedding anniversary into a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

To love. To travel. To champagne toasts on the sofa.
And to many more years—both on screen and off.

With love and adventure,
