Tips To Make Packing for A Caribbean Cruise A Breeze

Caribbean cruises are a popular vacation – and wedding – choice for many people. I got married in the Caribbean! But if you’ve never been on one, the idea of packing for the trip can be a bit daunting. What should you pack? How much should you pack? What should you leave behind?

Imagine my overwhelming task of packing for a cruise… to the Bahamas… for my wedding!

In this blog post, I’ll give you quick tips to make packing for a Caribbean cruise a breeze.

With this list of tips, you’ll be ready to set sail in no time!

Start with a packing list.

Make a list of everything you think you’ll need for your Caribbean cruise, and then start narrowing it down. Do you really need five pairs of shoes? Probably not. Do you need a formal outfit for every night on the cruise? Again, probably not.

Pack lightly and only bring the essentials.

Stick to neutral clothing items.

When in doubt, stick to neutral clothing items. White for day, black for evening, and then choose one color to be your accent color (mine is pink).

This way, you can mix and match your clothing items to create different outfits without having to pack a lot of different clothes.

Don’t forget about swimwear!

One of the best things about a Caribbean cruise is that you can spend all day lounging by the pool or on the beach. Make sure to pack plenty of swimwear so that you can enjoy the sun and water to the fullest.

Pack a bikini or two (or three), plus a super-stylish one-piece.

Also be sure to bring a class cover up, too! Here’s a beautiful Caribbean-print cover up, available on Amazon:

Pack comfortable (and stylish) shoes.

You’ll do a lot of walking on a Caribbean cruise, so make sure to pack comfortable shoes that you can wear with about anything. Sandals with seashell embellishments or palm trees would be perfect!

Here’s a gorgeous palm tree pair, available on Amazon:

Choose a stylish sunhat.

With the sun’s rays beating down on your face, you need a large-brimmed hat, too! I’m fair-skinned, and a sunhat is a must for me, not only for my skin, but also the top of my head to avoid sunburn there.

Here’s a gorgeous hat, as found on Amazon:

Don’t forget the sunblock!

No matter what time of year and no matter where you are in the world, you should always pack sunblock to apply during and after your time in the sun. Look for SPF of at least 50, and choose one that is waterproof.

If you would like to get a little color before your trip (as I usually do, having fair skin), try a self-tanning lotion. Be sure to use one that has a pretty scent and tans gradually. This self-tanner by Jergens is great (I use it), and it’s available on Amazon:

Wasn’t that a breeze?
