Argentina has earned a well-deserved place on wine lists around the world, and Mendoza is at the heart of that story. Known for its vineyards set against the dramatic backdrop of the Andes Mountains, the region produces wines that are wonderfully enjoyable to share around the table.

Tango Real Cabernet Sauvignon is one of those wines.

I am not a wine connoisseur. I am a social wine drinker who appreciates a wine that feels inviting, pairs easily with a meal, and gives friends something enjoyable to talk about. I had the opportunity to learn more about Tango Real while visiting Cork & Olive in Lake Mary, Florida, where I met with Juan Pombo of Tango Real, the U.S. operation for Goyenechea Winery and Vineyards.

Founded in 1868, Goyenechea Winery and Vineyards is based in Mendoza, Argentina. According to Tango Real, this Cabernet Sauvignon is made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from the winery’s own vineyards near Villa Atuel in the San Rafael area of Mendoza.

The wine has a rich color and good body, with fruity aromas typical of Cabernet Sauvignon. I found it warm and smooth, with mild tannins that give it character without making it difficult to enjoy. It has a pleasant finish that stays with you nicely after each sip.

For me, this is an easy wine to bring out for dinner with friends or family. It pairs especially well with meats, stews, and Serrano ham, but I also enjoyed it with poultry and pasta. It is the kind of versatile red that works for a casual weeknight meal just as easily as a more relaxed dinner gathering.

One of the things I enjoy most about wine is that it naturally brings people together. A bottle on the table can start a conversation, help guests settle in, and make an ordinary meal feel a little more special. Tango Real Cabernet Sauvignon is a lovely option for those occasions: approachable, flavorful, and made to be shared.
