Elmira’s Wildlife Sanctuary in Florida

Elmira’s Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Wimauma, Florida, and is a sanctuary that captured my heart! This incredible sanctuary is home to a diverse range of Florida animals, including exotic birds, lemurs, tigers, and bears.

One particular resident, Stanley the grizzly bear, tugged at my heartstrings. He has a small swimming pool that he enjoys during the hot Florida weather, but the sanctuary is currently working towards raising funds to provide him with a larger living area.

Elmira’s Wildlife Sanctuary is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the well-being of their animal residents. They do not engage in breeding, buying, selling, or allowing public contact with the animals. Their sole purpose is to offer a forever home to these magnificent creatures.

As a non-profit, they rely solely on the support of our members and private contributions. They have no paid employees and are staffed entirely by volunteers who share our passion for animal welfare.

The mission of Elmira’s Wildlife Sanctuary encompasses providing loving care, life management, and enrichment to exotic and wild animals in need of a safe haven. They also strive to raise awareness within the community about the specific needs of these animals by offering educational tours for schools and scouts.
