Dear Michelle Valentine,

I met this woman online, and would love to meet her.

Where should I take her on a first date?

To The Zoo

Dear Zoo,

When dating, you should always have a nice date location in mind at all times, one that is comfortable to you and your pocketbook.

Great first-date locations would be:

a quiet, romantic restaurant;

a picnic at a beautiful park on a lake;

an excursion to an art museum or art gallery, complete with lunch;

an outdoor themed festival;

or maybe a game of golf.

Be sure that both of you know exactly what you will be doing, so as the other person is comfortable & aware of the upcoming situation, and able to appropriately dress for the occasion.

Places not to go on your first date:

your home or their home (too personal, too risky),

the movie theatre (no opportunities for conversation),

a brightly lit coffee shop (too impersonal),

or to a bar for cocktails (too loud, too risky).
