Holiday Inn Express & Suites London
Sometimes when the production crew is traveling, we don’t need a resort or a long list of extras. We need a hotel that’s clean, comfortable, convenient and in a location that makes it easy to get where we’re filming.
That’s what we found at Holiday Inn Express & Suites London while filming our London, Kentucky episode of Love Eat Travel with Michelle Valentine.
This was a more basic hotel than some of the properties we’ve stayed at during our travels, but it worked very well as our home base. The staff was great, the newly renovated hotel was clean, and the location made it easy for us to get out each day and explore.
A Convenient Location in London
One of the best things about staying here was the location.
The hotel is close to major roads and highways, which was particularly useful because we weren’t spending our days sitting around the hotel. We were heading out to different locations throughout London and the surrounding Kentucky countryside.
There are also restaurants and other conveniences nearby, so we didn’t have to travel far when we needed something after returning from a long day.
If your plans involve getting out and exploring the area, that’s the kind of location I appreciate.
Clean, Comfortable and Straightforward
Our accommodations were fairly simple, and that’s not necessarily a negative.
The hotel gave us a clean and comfortable place to stay without trying to be something it wasn’t. After spending long days filming, we could come back, get some rest and be ready to head out again the next morning.
The staff also made a very good impression on us. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, which always makes a stay more pleasant.
A Good Home Base for Exploring
London surprised me with just how much there was to experience in the surrounding area.
During our trip, we traveled from historic attractions to beautiful Kentucky countryside, and some of our adventures took us well beyond the center of town. Having relatively easy access to the roads we needed made the hotel particularly practical for us.
That’s also why I think this type of hotel can work well for a road trip. If the hotel isn’t supposed to be the vacation itself, convenience becomes much more important.
You can spend your day exploring and have a comfortable place waiting when you return.
Who Might Enjoy Staying Here?
Holiday Inn Express & Suites London could be a good fit for travelers looking for straightforward accommodations in a convenient location.
I’d especially consider it if you’re taking a Kentucky road trip or planning to explore London and the surrounding area by car. With restaurants nearby and easy access to major roads, it’s a convenient home base for exploring the region. After a day of filming, the Love Eat Travel with Michelle Valentine production crew even walked to a nearby Mexican restaurant for a fun and relaxing dinner together.
Travelers looking for a resort-style experience would obviously be looking for something different. But if your priority is a clean, comfortable home base while you spend your time experiencing the destination, this worked well for us.
As always, hotel amenities and services can change, so check current information with the property when planning your trip.
