One of the best parts of our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn State College was undoubtedly our time spent at Mercato Mio, the hotel’s on-site restaurant. After long days of filming for Love Eat Travel, my husband and I truly appreciated the delicious meals, inviting ambiance, and handcrafted cocktails that made this dining experience so special. Whether we were starting our mornings with a convenient breakfast alongside our TV crew or unwinding in the evening with a carefully crafted drink, Mercato Mio exceeded our expectations.

A Convenient & Delicious Start to the Day

Mornings can be hectic during production, so having a hearty and convenient breakfast right at the hotel was a lifesaver for our crew. Mercato Mio offers a fantastic breakfast bar, where we could fuel up with fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, and made-to-order omelets before heading out for a full day of filming.

The variety was impressive—whether we wanted something light and fresh or a classic, hearty breakfast, there was something for everyone. Their fluffy pancakes, crispy breakfast potatoes, and rich, aromatic coffee were absolute must-haves! The convenience of not having to rush out to find a restaurant in the morning made all the difference, ensuring our team was energized and ready to go.

Unwinding After a Long Day with Specialty Cocktails

After hours of shooting on location, my husband and I looked forward to relaxing with a handcrafted cocktail at the quaint lounge area at Mercato Mio. The restaurant’s bar was the perfect place to unwind, reflect on the day’s work, and enjoy some well-deserved downtime.

Their cocktail menu featured an excellent selection of specialty drinks, from classic favorites to unique house creations. One of our favorites was the Espresso Martini, a perfect blend of bold espresso and smooth vodka—just the pick-me-up we needed after a long day. My husband particularly enjoyed their Old Fashioned, which had the perfect balance of rich bourbon and citrus notes.

Pairing our drinks with some savory appetizers, like the crispy calamari and bruschetta topped with fresh tomatoes and basil, made the experience even better. The bar’s warm, inviting atmosphere gave us the chance to relax, chat, and soak in the comfortable elegance of the restaurant.

A Dinner to Remember

When it came to dinner, Mercato Mio truly impressed us. The menu featured delicious Italian-inspired dishes, crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients. One evening, we indulged in their house-made pizza, and it was nothing short of spectacular. I loved the salmon and spinach and a large side salad!

We also had for lunch lighter fare like sandwiches and fries!
