Top 4 Fun Water Activities to Do in the Bahamas

The Bahamas is a country located in the Atlantic Ocean, consisting of more than 700 islands. With its crystal clear water and beautiful beaches, it’s no wonder that many people choose to visit the Bahamas for their holidays.

My wedding was aboard a cruise ship to the Bahamas, and it was a wedding destination for all to remember! It was the perfect way to celebrate our marriage with all our family and friends from around the world. Our ceremony was held on board the ship before we left the Palm Beach port for the Bahamas.

The best part was that everyone got to stay together in one place, and we were able to have so many water activities when we arrived in the Bahamas. Whether you’re looking to go snorkeling, boating, kayaking through a coral reef, or just relaxing on the beach, activities in the Bahamas will keep you cool and entertained!

If you’re looking for something fun to do in the water during your stay, here are four activities you will enjoy:

Swimming in the Bahamas

The water was so clear that you can see the sandy bottom down to the coral reef. I had never seen anything like it! The colors were so bright and vibrant, the fish and reef almost looked artificial! Swimming in the Bahamas will be one of the most amazing experiences of your life, so be sure to bring your swimsuit!

The Bahamas are a beautiful country made up of hundreds of islands. The water is crystal clear and the beaches are white sand and surrounded by palm trees. It’s no wonder that they call it the “Island Paradise.” If you’re looking for a tropical vacation, the Bahamas should be at the top of your list!

Snorkeling in the Bahamas

The Exumas are a chain of 365 cays and islands in the Bahamas. They are known for their crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, and stunning coral reefs. The best way to explore these cays is by snorkeling.

The water in the Exumas is so clear that you can see for 30 feet or more below the surface. There are plenty of fish to see, as well as coral reefs and sunken ships. The beaches on the cays are also beautiful and perfect for a relaxing day in the sun.

The Exuma Cays offer some of the best snorkeling in the world. With crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, and an abundance of marine life, these cays are a snorkeler’s paradise.

Some of the best snorkeling can be found at Allan’s Cay and Warderick Wells. Allan’s Cay is home to starfish, sea turtles, and several species of coral. Warderick Wells is known for its large population of nurse sharks.

If you’re looking for a more secluded spot, try swimming off the shore of Big Major Cay, where you’re likely to see pigs swimming in the ocean!

Boating in the Bahamas

The Bahamas is a great place to go boating. With crystal clear waters, white sand beaches, and plenty of places to stop and explore, it’s no wonder that the Bahamas is a popular destination for boaters.

Many different types of boats can be rented in the Bahamas, from sailboats and catamarans to powerboats ranging in size from 18-foot runabouts to 60-foot cruising yachts.

Several companies offer charter services, such as a yacht agency dealing with Bahamian charters; a magazine concentrating on boating holidays, and charter managers working in America but concentrating mainly on the Out Islands of the Bahamas.

Charter boats are rented out by their owners for periods ranging from only one day or hour up to six weeks.

The daily rate charged by charter boat rental agencies ranges between $375 – $475 a day for an older model and upwards of $2,000 per day for newer high-end vessels. Rates can change year over year based on demand and fuel costs. Be prepared to pay extra charges for optional items that might be available aboard certain cruisers.

The Bahamas is a great place to go boating year-round, but the best time to go is during the winter months when the weather is cooler and there are fewer crowds.

Kayaking in the Bahamas

The Bahamas is a paradise for kayakers. With its crystal-clear water, white-sand beaches, and lush vegetation, the islands offer kayakers a unique and unforgettable experience.

Some of the best kayaking in the Bahamas can be found on Cat Island. The island has numerous bays and coves that are perfect for exploring by kayak. And because Cat Island is not as touristy as some of the other Bahamian islands, you can often have the beaches all to yourself.

Another great place for kayaking in the Bahamas is Eleuthera. This island is known for its dramatic cliffs, crystal clear waters and lovely beaches; it’s the perfect place to unwind. Divided into three sections, Harbour Island differs from many of the islands in the Bahamas because of its quaint, charming style.

Stay at The Rock House on Pink Sands Beach for sophisticated elegance, with views in mountain style. Relax by having coffee on your private veranda to enjoy this secluded paradise or spend time in their spa that offers massages and facials as well as yoga, stretching and acupuncture programs.

The Bahamas are a great place for water activities. From swimming and snorkeling to boating and fishing, there is something for everyone.
