Greek Garlic Gyro
Every time I eat my Greek Garlic Gyro dinner, it reminds me of the exciting time I had while I was visiting several Greek islands. While on a Royal Caribbean cruise, my sister and I visited the Greek islands of Rhodes, Mykonos, and Athens. On every island, we made sure we had an authentic gyro meal from Greece. Such a fine treat this recipe is! Ooh, and remember to sip your favorite Greek wine with this meal.
1 pound lamb, fat trimmed, cut into uniform cubes
2 teaspoons Mediterranean seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic seasoning blend
1 teaspoon fresh chopped rosemary
1 tablespoon Grapeseed Oil
½ cup Greek yogurt
½ tablespoon Tzatziki Seasoning
¼ cup grated cucumber
1 cup diced tomato
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
Method of Preparation
In a large bowl combine lamb, Mediterranean Seasoning, Garlic Galore, rosemary, and Grape Seed Oil. Set this combination aside. In a smaller bowl combine the yogurt, Tzatziki, and cucumber. Set these items aside. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium to high heat. Add the seasoned lamb; cook until done. Divide among the 4 pitas. Top with diced tomato, onion, and prepared Tzatziki sauce.
